Description An understated “New Old Stock” antique salesman sample of a door hardware set by Chantrell Co., dating from the early 1900’s. Salesman samples were often made by manufacturers to show potential buyers the design, functionality, and quality of their products. The sample is mounted on a wooden backing, typical of salesmen’s presentation boards. The wood is dark and polished, providing a rich contrast to the brass elements of the hardware.
